Wouldn't it be nice to be so rich that you make your house into a museum that attracts 1.3 million visitors each year? Welcome to the Getty Center!

Bittersweet Christmas

The good news...we had a wonderful time in New Mexico seeing our family over Christmas! We have missed everyone so much since we moved to LA, so we got our "fix." Plus, as a bonus, we ate green chile again :) It's amazing how small NM seems after being in California for a few months - and how cold! It was nice to have a white Christmas, and to bundle up in front of the fire with hot chocolate. Leaving was rough, but I know we will get some visitors at some point, hint hint ;) We love you all very much.

Try to watch this and NOT smile

If you can do this, you are a better man than I.

I mean, woman.

Remember, don't smile.

Bits & Pieces...Round 2

See, told you it wasn't over yet.

Bits & Pieces

Amidst the chaos of life, there have been little things here and there that have slipped between the cracks...

It's time to fill in some of those cracks, since it's the little things that count...

Plenty to Be Thankful For

Knowing this would be our first Thanksgiving away from family, I was a little sad when it rolled around. But overall, it turned out very nice :) We have so much to be thankful for this year and whatever difficulties have come our way, they do not detract from how blessed we truly are!

Veteran's Day...11-11-11

This is the only double-figure palindromic date, since there is not 22nd month and so on. What a cool way to honor the bravery of our veterans (love you, Grandpa!)!

Interesting fact: the last time this date occurred (on Nov. 11, 1911), a weird natural event took place. Temperatures dropped by more than 60F in a single day! This was the Great Blue Norther, a cold wave that hit the U.S. causing blizzards, tornadoes, and record falls in temperature. For ex, Kansas City was 76F in the afternoon, but dropped to 11F by the end of the day. This is the only day in many cities' histories where the record highs and lows were broken on the same day! Preeetty crazy...

So what was the weather like here in LA? And what did we do?
